Do I Need To Take An Arabic Placement Test? 

If you are having difficulty deciding on which course to enroll in, we offer a free placement test to evaluate all of our students’ Arabic language skills in four crucial areas: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. We will of course be very happy to consult with you if you have any questions regarding course levels.
Students with existing Arabic language proficiency or prior study will take the Placement Tests. Those without prior Arabic knowledge will be automatically enrolled in our Starter course.
Whether taking a placement test or not, it is worth noting that all of our courses focus on the four language skills speaking, reading, writing, and listening.

Who teaches the Modern Standard Arabic Online Courses? 

Teachers holding bachelor’s degrees in either Arabic or English Studies teach the Study Modern Standard Arabic Online course.

  • Beginner Students are placed with teachers who speak good English to facilitate the learning process.
  • More advanced students and those with a reasonably good understanding of Arabic are also placed with teachers who speak English, although the primary language of communication between student and teacher will be Arabic to further develop the student’s abilities.

Arabic is a very popular language

It is recognized as an official language in 25 countries, including every member of the Arab League. While the people within every one of these member states speak a unique colloquial dialect, Modern Standard Arabic has become a multinational unifier of Arabic speakers who would otherwise find themselves unable to communicate.   • a step-by-step guide to understanding written and spoken texts in Arabic.
  • an emphasis on developing speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.
  • use of a large and diverse vocabulary of words and phrases commonly used in the Arabic language.
  • a spread of subject matter which covers topics related to both the Middle East and North Africa.
  • units relating to Arab folklore, customs, and proverbs, as well as short articles on various topics related to the Arab world.
  • a variety of exercises and quizzes that are there to enhance grammar, vocabulary, and communication strategies.

What Levels Of Modern Standard Arabic Are Available?

Study Modern Standard Arabic Online courses are available at all levels, from the Starter Level right through to the Advanced Level:

Starter’s Course 

This course is designed for those who do not have any background knowledge of the Arabic language. Participants are introduced to the common phoneme groups, by which the letters are divided into several units. They’ll learn to associate letters with short and long diacritics, enabling varied readings. Conversational phrases are also an integral part of the course.

Beginner’s Course

This course aims to address aspects that have not been addressed in the first level. At this level, we systematically simplify the focus on fundamental expression tools like signal names, adjectives, and directions, emphasizing their distinctions. Furthermore, each lesson will incorporate suitable and vivid illustrations, connecting images with vocabulary. At this level, the student will learn how to ask different questions and how to answer them, whether in the negative or the affirmative. 

Intermediate Course

At this level, the range of grammatical terms used will be gradually increased to include more nouns, verbs, prepositions, and so on, as well as exploring the structure of actual sentences. This course will also supply students with a diverse set of topics which will equip them with an increasing number of words, structures, and methods that they can then employ in conversation about various aspects of life. In addition, students will learn some important spelling rules and will get to see a variety of Arabic calligraphy.

Advanced Course

This level will present grammatical rules within the context of a range of interesting dialogues, thus helping the student understand these rules. In addition, it will introduce the student to aspects of Islamic and Arab civilization. Following each text and dialogue, a series of exercises will reinforce and solidify the student’s comprehension of grammatical rules.
